Pheasant Coucal (photo by Gail Bryant)
Returned from Brisbane and Gatton last weekend. While away I tried to video waders but most had not arrived in the Brisbane area – maybe in November when we will be returning.
Picked up two new species:

Black-faced Monarch

Banded Lapwing
The Lapwing was found near Gatton and the Monarch at the Raven St Reserve, in Brisbane. That makes 302 species where I have sufficient video for my DVDs. I have set myself a challenge of 400!! It may take a year or two but I am hopeful.
Good clips were also obtained of 20 other species. The interesting call of

Pheasant Coucal
was nice to record on video.
